Kenilworth Police Department’s use of body worn cameras
On February 20, 2019 The Kenilworth Police Department officially rolled out the use of body worn cameras to all of its officers for patrol duty use. The device pictured above is an AXON camera which will be displayed and secured on the exterior of all patrol officers while on duty. Instances in which the camera would be activated include but are not limited to criminal investigations, serious motor vehicle crashes, motor vehicle stops, alarms, and any potential use of force instances. These recordings will be reviewed by command level administration for training, safety improvement, and internal affairs purposes. Captain Dan Sims is the program coordinator and can be reached at 908-276-1700 x105 or Dsims@kenilworthpolice.org.
