Our Softball program is offered to girls ranging from grades K through 8th. We currently have 3 different fields we call home; Harding Elementary School Field & Louis Wood Park for our Clinic teams, Louis Wood Park & DiMario Park for 3rd-5th, DiMario Park 6th-8th. The season runs from late winter/early spring with practices starting in March through late spring with games beginning in early April ending Late May/early June.
We believe uniforms are super important to the kids. They help to build the children's confidence in themselves and the team, solidifies that they are a part of something bigger than themselves. The fees we charge help to offset the cost of the uniforms, equipment and umpires. The children do get to keep the uniforms after the season is over. Every season, we look for team sponsors to help aid in cost as well as help our local businesses with hopes of creating greater participation and a tighter knit community.
Clinic is geared towards teaching the basics of softball. The girls are taught how to properly hold their bat, how to stand at the plate, hit, use their mitts, and the infield. They learn what it is to work together to be a cohesive unit, playing games against other clinic teams both home and a few surrounding towns. It's a great program and the girls really have a lot of fun together.
At this level the girls learn to play the entire field. This level is when the girls will learn specific positions, catching, pitching, infield positions as well as outfield positions. These games are so much fun to watch and see how the girls learn and develop not only their individual skills, but their ability to take direction from both the coaches and umpires, to work as a team, even clear communication, and leadership skills. The transformation in some of these children at this level of play is rather incredible to see.
By the time the girls get to this level they have truly honed their skills, learned their strengths, and earn their positions on the team. These girls play with much more passion, intensity, and love for the sport. The games are quite exciting to watch!

IT'S JUST A GAME
BE MINDFUL OF OUR YOUNG ONES:
So often it is forgotten that they are just kids and this is a Rec sport. Not made to be super competitive, the goal is for the kids to learn and have fun doing it. Parents and spectators should not be yelling from the stands at the children, coaches, or umpires. By all means cheer the kids on just be mindful of those around you and considerate of those volunteering to coach our children.
KEEPIN IT CLEAN:
We all love to have snacks and drinks when watching a game. Please be sure to take a look around before leaving the park to make sure there aren't any empty bottles or wrappers left behind. Our parks are very active and we want our children to be able to play in a safe clean environment.
